Providing travel services to Sikh tourists to visit their temples

Question

I am a travel agent, I need to ask regarding providing transportation and accomodation services to Sikh Yatries who will travel to Pakistan from the USA in order to visit their sacred places in Pakistan. I have nothing to do with any of their religious activities. We just have to provide them with accomodation and transportation to their destinations, markets for shopping, and some Pakistani cultural places. All this activity is beneficial for the tourism business in Pakistan. I need to know whether such business would be halal or haram.

Answer

All perfect praise be to Allah, the Lord of the worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allah and that Muhammad, sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, is His slave and Messenger.

As long as you know that those people are traveling to visit their temples and practice the rituals of their false religions, then it is impermissible for you to provide this service to them. Allah, the Exalted, says (what means): {And cooperate in righteousness and piety, but do not cooperate in sin and aggression.} [Quran 5:2]

The author of Al-Mudawwanah said, "(Imaam) Maalik said, 'And he should not rent out his riding animal to them if he knows that they rented it to ride it to their religious festivals.'"

The lawful means of earning a living which are free of doubts are available for whoever seeks them and desires them. We ask Allah to bless you with success, help you, and facilitate your affair in the righteous way.

Allah knows best.
